What Magpie is
What is Magpie?
Magpie emails you when a specific item is reduced and back in stock in your size. You give it a product link from an Irish or UK retailer and pick your size. It watches that page and emails you the moment the price drops or your size returns. It also covers furniture and homeware under Magpie Nest, and beauty products.
Which retailers does Magpie cover?
405 Irish and UK retailers, from Zara, ASOS, Arnotts and Brown Thomas to independent Irish boutiques. Each one is read by a reader we proved on a real product before we listed the retailer. The full list is on the Shops page, with a page per retailer that states its delivery terms to Ireland.
Does Magpie work in Ireland?
Magpie is an Irish company built specifically to focus on Irish and UK brands that are loved by shoppers across Ireland.
Does Magpie take a commission from retailers?
No. There are no affiliate links, so we have no interest in which shop you buy from or whether you buy at all.
How it works
How do I track an item?
Install the Magpie extension for the most seamless experience possible. Once installed, the Magpie tab sits discreetly at the edge of the retailer’s page you’re on. Simply click it, pick your size or sizes and track, then keep browsing where you left off. A full guide for every device can be found here https://www.magpie.ie/add. There is also a paste box on the Track page if you prefer to use the site to track your items.
How often do you check a page?
We check each page every ten minutes for fashion retailers and every half an hour for furniture retailers. An alert is sent on the first check that finds the item reduced and in stock in your size.
What alert will I get?
By default, an email when the price drops and your size is in stock. You can choose back-in-stock only, price drop only, or both, per item. On the Trackers page you can also turn on browser notifications, so the alert reaches your lock screen as well as your inbox.
Does the price include delivery?
Yes, by default. A target price is compared to the delivered price to Ireland, so an alert that says “under 50 euro” means 50 euro at the checkout. You can switch a tracker to the item price instead. Furniture and household item trackers always use the item price.
Will I be warned about customs charges?
Yes. Every retailer page and the Shops list carry a marker: posts from inside the EU, duties paid, or import charges may apply. Where a retailer posts from Great Britain and does not prepay duties, the tracker says so.
How long does a tracker run?
A tracker runs for ninety days, or until its first alert, whichever comes first. After that you can restart it from the email or your Trackers page. Several sizes of one item count as one tracker.
What if a retailer is not listed?
Please email [email protected] with the link and we will look at adding the retailer for you.
Price and account
How much does it cost?
14 days free, then €2.99 a month or €29.99 a year. One plan with everything in it: Fashion, Nest and Beauty, the deals walls, and as many items as you like within fair use of 40 new items a month. The trial takes a card and you can cancel during it at no cost.
What happens when I cancel?
Cancelling stops new trackers. The ones already running finish their ninety days and still email you. You keep your account and can subscribe again later.
Do you track what I browse?
No. Magpie reads only the links you give it. We count page views with a tool that stores nothing on your device and cannot tell one reader from another. The one advertising cookie is Meta’s: it loads only if you accept it, and it never runs on your trackers or on a deals wall. If you accept it and then subscribe, we tell Meta that a subscription happened and what it cost, and nothing about you or what you track. You can change your mind on the Cookies page. Your email address and password are held by our sign-in provider, and you can delete your account and every tracker from the Your data page at any time.
